I oriented my BFA collection around
obscure emotions.
While I chose words that I deeply resonated with and were representative of my own evolution, I wanted to create a space for the viewers to engage in a mutual vulnerability with me however the art spoke to them.

RIGOR SAMSA // rig-er-sam-suh // a kind of psychological exoskeleton that can protect you from pain and contain your anxieties, but always ends up cracking under pressure or hollowed out by time; and will keep growing back again and again, until you develop a more sophisticated emotional structure
METANOIA // met-uh-noi-uh // n. a transformative change of mind and heart; a change in one's way of life.
SAUDADE // soh-dahd // n. a deep emotional state of melancholic longing for a person or thing that is absent.
JOUSKA // jow-ska // A hypothetical conversation that you compulsively play out in your head; a crisp analysis, a cathartic dialogue, a devastating comeback which serves as a kind of psychological batting cage
ENOUEMENT // a-new-mon // The bittersweetness of having arrived in the future, seeing how things turn out, but not being able to tell your past self
